The child has no symptoms and has had COVID exposure:
We advise that testing does not rule out COVID but is helpful when it is positive. If your child has had a definite exposure to COVID, we recommend quarantine for 14 days after exposure regardless of results. An appointment will be needed to discuss appropriate timing of testing, interpretation of results and recommendations.
The child has symptoms and has had COVID exposure:
We advise that testing does not rule out COVID but is helpful when it is positive. If your child has had a definite exposure to COVID, we recommend quarantine for at least 10 days from Day 1 of symptoms and until they are asymptomatic for 24 hours, regardless of results. We cannot guarantee that testing will be done on day of appointment due to testing limitations and constraints that are affected by timing of the test after exposure. An appointment will be needed to discuss appropriate timing of testing, interpretation of results and recommendations.

Antibody testing:
Antibody testing does not have very good accuracy for verifying that a patient has had COVID. We do not recommend testing at this time. If you would like testing to be done, the results may not have definitive answers to if your child had COVID or if they are immune to COVID now or in the future. If you would still like to pursue antibody testing, we will make a telemedicine appointment for you and your child will need to be present.
COVID -19 update 9/14/2020
